"Tuwid na daan" still highlighted on Ninoy Aquino Day
Praises on the administration of President Benigno Simeon Aquino III was heard in the homily of the officiating priest at the Eucharistic ceremony performed in commemoration of his father’s 31st death anniversary.
President Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III arrives at his parents' mausoleum for a mass and a short program for the commemoration of his father's death.
“We are continuously taking the straight road the president has paved,” said Lieutenant Chaplain Daniel D. Tansip in a vernacular, the officiating priest in the Eucharist. He added that Ninoy could be proud of the president if Ninoy was alive.
Tansip, a member of the Presidential Security Guards, also a member of the Military Ordinariae of the Philippines or MOP, said in an exclusive interview after the mass that he used to be a member of the Presidential Security Guards of the late President Corazon Aquino.
The Eucharistic celebration ended with the blessing of the graves of the late Senator Benigno Simeon Aquino Jr. and his wife, Corazon Aquino.
Among the attendees of the mass were the Presidential sisters and their children, Senate President Franklin Drilon, Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas, Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman, and the wife of the former House Speaker Jose De Venecia, Gina De Venecia.
Laid in yellow flowers, the mausoleum of late President Corazon Aquino, and her husband, Senator Ninoy Aquino were filled with yellow flowers, yellow ribbons, and people who remembers the sacrifice of the couple for the country.
The Eucharistic ceremony, which started fifteen minutes after ten in the morning, lasted for about forty-five minutes, and was attended by more than 70 people, which includes the members of the Aquino family, guests, supporters, security, passersby, and the media in the mausoleum of the late Senator Ninoy Aquino at the Manila Memorial Park, Paranaque City.###
